DECOMPOSITION SERIES

a compositional cycle based on hidden informations (2012 - ongoing)

The DECOMPOSITION SERIES investigates, provokes, triggers and uses signals that usually remain undetected by our limited human senses. Focusing on the unintended use or modification of technical developments, Peter Kutin and Florian Kindlinger (http://kutinkindlinger.com) overcome natural barriers and compose with what is found beyond our human threshold: Decompositions are glimpses from hidden, yet fascinating realities.
So far four parts have been realised :

DECOMPOSITION I : ABSENCE : DESERT SOUND
[raw field recordings from the Atacama desert]

DECOMPOSITION II : E# : FROM A GLACIAL TUNE
[reinforcing resonant frequencies from a crevasse inside an glacier in the Austrian alps]

DECOMPOSITION III : ILLUSION : DESERT BLOOM
[electromagnetic recordings from the Las Vegas Strip]

DECOMPOSITION IV : VARIATIONS ON BULLETPROOF GLASS
[recordings taken inside a bulletproof glassine while being exposed to different physical impacts]
