SOUND OF MUSICK [sic!]

FEATURE FILM / ANTI MUSICAL , 2025

Debut feature film ;
~87 min, to be finished in 2025

An Anti-Musical deconstructing the Hollywood classic The Sound of Music from 1965 by revisiting its original locations, casting them in an entirely different light, infusing uncompromising music, trash aesthetics, some psychoanalytical sarcasm and letting the wolves off the leash.
Hollywood’s idyllic portrayal of Austria as a nation of peaceful goat herders and steadfast Nazi resisters is torn apart. Instead, the film offers a counter-narrative that challenges this fabricated scenario, which has become a worldwide imagination.

Drawn from the heart of the international experimental music and performance scene, the cast embodies the film’s hybrid form: a portrait of a subcultural movement set within a fictional narrative : A NOISICAL as a collective endeavour.

Synopsis :
The hills around Salzburg no longer sing. Once alive with the sound of music, the Pearl of the Alps is stuck in a timeless winter – cold, grey, and dark. Under such inharmonic conditions, the once-celebrated composer Wolfgang is suffering from a severe depression: an eerie light cuts through the darkness of their dreams, relentlessly pulsating, shaking their soul to the core. Noise is threatening the Hochkultur.
Even the most highly decorated general of psychoanalysis struggles with such a peculiar case:
Wolfgang or Wolfman?
What about the father ?
Dog or man, bug or slug, Apollo or Marsyas ?
Who speaks japanese in Salzburg ?
Many questions, few answers…

The general keeps drinking and thinking, et voilá – sip after sip – a maelstrom of inner dissonance is set in motion, piling up to a disorienting collage of fragmented, broken, and corrupted memories
